You may believe that cover letters are not important but you are absolutely wrong. As a former Hiring Manager it is a common practice that if a resume comes in without a cover letter it gets tossed in the trash. The basic principle being that if someone can’t do a thorough job of applying for a position by taking two minutes writing a cover letter, how thorough of an employee would they be?
Below are three great cover letter examples. When writing your cover letter remember to refer to two important pages on this website, What to Put in a Cover Letter and Cover Letter Tips.and “Tips On Cover Letter Writing” pages.
Think of the below cover letters examples as guidelines to get you going. DO NOT send “cookie cutter” cover letters out. That can do just as much damage as not sending a cover letter at all with your resume. Make sure you customize them to highlight your skills that make you the best fit for the position you are applying to.
